What We Do
The future of Wireless Health ultimately depends on the effective coordination of medical applications, engineering research, and technology development. Advances in one are impossible without advances in the other two. Engineers must work with medical domain experts (doctors, nurses, and the patients themselves) to identify compelling applications, technologies must be developed and deployed, medical data must be collected on actual patients and other human subjects, and results and experiences must be fed back to inform engineering research for subsequent applications and technologies.
The UVA Center for Wireless Health employs this holistic approach, as reflected by the cross-linked project pages. The links in the puzzle on the right list the Center’s various medical applications, engineering research projects, and technology development efforts. But each page describing a medical application refers to the relevant technology platform and engineering research pages, and vice versa.
